And they said it couldn't be done...

Lord knows what possessed this, but after eating an avocado, the mothership decided to grow a plant from the stone...as you do. I thought i'd post an image just to show how well it's doing because some individuals didn't believe this sort of thing happened! : )

The Mothership.

I returned home yesterday to the most wonderful of 'congratulation' presents, for finishing my degree! I got some flowers, a lovely card AND the best ever....carrot cake cupcakes. Not only that, but the mothership had gone to new lengths of getting (mock) Cath Kidston cupcake cases, and a lovely cake box for my journey back to Rochester. View for yourself the wonder that is.....

I dedicate this post to Ms Jacklin as i'm sure her appreciation of such cupcake cases will match my own. xxx

My Final Major Project

I ended up doing a travel book, taking the philosophical stance rather than where to go and what to see approach. Anyway. This is a page i did for it. I thought I'd share it. That's all. x

A friend sent me this...

and I think it's very sweet, if a little odd. Thank you Mr Daniel Mogentale.

I cannot wait....

to see this movie.

It's Summer!

Oh hello again. I thought I'd just post a couple of images that I took in Rochester of flowers.

Crazy Cat Lady

Laura and I got bored again....

If anyone knows of how to make imovie stop the zooming in transition, it would be greatly appreciated. Although, lets face it, it's not of a professional quality anyway. But still, kept us amused for 15 minutes!

Team Bibbidi

Team Bibbidi is an amusing collaboration between myself and stylist Gemma Falcone. It evolved when working on a magazine project at university and it's been a lot of fun working together since on different projects. We've been lucky enough to be entered into several competitions and recently have been chosen to feature in a new art magazine. Fingers crossed for more shoots and general frolicking.

Recent in the world of books...

I have time to read! It's wonderful, if a little strange. So...

I read 'Under the Net' by Iris Murdoch the other day. It's lovely. I'd recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind a little bit of waffle, but eventually getting to something incredibly insightful.

A book that I used a lot for my Final Major Project was Mark Borthwick's 'Not in Fashion'. Borthwick is a wonderfully original photographer, and the book was a great inspiration in terms of it's art direction and concept.

I picked up Nedko Solakov's '99 Fears' in Urban Outfitters the other day. Seriously, Urban Outfitters are great for getting really cheap art books. '99 Fears' was only around a fiver! It's something that's lovely to just dip into now and again. The quirky illustrations are accompanied by amusing notations at the bottom of the page.

I have a Mac!

As a relatively new owner of a Mac, it was fairly recent that I discovered the world of Photo Booth. With my degree all finished, I've been at a bit of a loss. One evening my house mate, Laura and I spent a stupidly long time, going to ridiculous lengths to capture the most bizarre of images. I'm sure I'm not the first to do so......

Hello there!

Well hello, I feel I should introduce myself, my name is Kate. Thank you very much for taking a look at this new blog! Hopefully you'll enjoy some of the randomness that will most likely occur. Take care. x
